Live. Breathe. Explore. Create.
My main job is as an infant teacher at a child development center, but I've always loved crafting and creating art in my freetime. Painting is in my genes from my mother's line and I grew up in a home where she was always painting, scrapbooking, or decorating for parties. In college at Appalachian State University, I majored in Elementary Education with a concentration in Art. I took a variety of classes in all mediums--painting, drawing, woodwork, and a class designed towards art and crafts with children that facilitates learning. I did many painting projects on my own time just for fun or as gifts, including wine bottles and glasses. That has not stopped, and I've expanded to cards as well!

In addition to art and cards, I also design websites. As an older millennial (born in the 90s), I grew up with learning how to change with the technology. As I progressed in school, we did a lot more technology based presentations, and in college I had to design websites for myself and classrooms. When my dad opened up his new golf business, I created a website for him, which led to my mother in law and her partner asking me to create a website for each of them for their Psychology office. A few months later a mother at the childcare center who's daughter was in my class started her own homemade baby food business and asked me repeatedly for ideas as a person in the field. I then offered my website building services, and she was ever so thankful! She then hired me for her husband's website for his business as well. Because I know what it's like to not fully understand technology and learning as I go, and with my teacher background, my website building process with clients is very personal. I always value their input and make sure they understand why I design things certain ways, while also trying to cater to what they want. I also teach them in the process how to make changes themselves and use the customer to business owner pieces of the website.
